Amera Trail originated in 1986 when Founder and President Scott Locke, had the goal to create a trailer that was superior to all others. Amera Trail’s mission was to deliver great memories around the water from the start of the day to the end of the day. Also, designing an equipment trailer that makes it to the job site and home safely. From day one, Scott never wanted to be the largest trailer manufacture, just THE BEST. As he always said, “…A great day on the water should always end with an easy loading trailer and a safe journey home…”

February 1986 was the year Amera Trail originated. A small, rented place with a few tools and a goal to build quality trailers. The first trailers were not for marine use.
Wash On Wheels was the 1st major account. Amera Trail built 3 trailers per week. 1988 was also the year for the 1st large boat trailer built. The delivery vehicle was a 1983 El Camino. This was the year we moved from 1st location in Orlando to 2nd location in Orlando.
First boat trailer account. Gambler Bass Boats
Amera Trail’s monthly newsletter and brochure launched this year
Moved from 2nd location to 3rd location in St. Cloud. Erwine’s Marine ask for a 2 boat hauler. Picking up 2 boats at a time was more profitable and less cost for Gary Erwine. This is the year we see the need for Multi Boat Haulers. First boat hauler built for Andy Wiggers.
A large part of Amera Trail’s success has been diversity. With the highs and lows of economy and cycles of the Marine Industry, Amera Trail capabilities go deep to survive down-swings. In the mid -90’s, Amera Trail built 1000’s of racks for the Bottled Water Industry and shipped throughout the US and other countries.
Sling Shot Bass Boats owned by Legend Arthur Allison was a large and great account for Amera Trail. This is a load of trailers Scott Locke is getting ready to deliver. Amera Trail was one of the first boat trailer companies to use Disc Brakes. This same year Amera Trail began building high quality equipment trailers and was now in the equipment trailer manufacturing business.
Boat Show in Chicago. American Skier was another great account. Award for Economic Development Commission of Mid-FL, Industry of the Year
Amera Trail mostly built steel trailers and wanted a better coating.
Powder Coating was the new process for the finish.
With changes in the Marine Industry and more customers wanting a less corrosive trailer, this is the year a conversion was made from steel to aluminum trailers
Disney and the surrounding parks and resorts have been a great accounts. Amera Trail has built 100’s of trailers for park use.
Amera Trail built 150 trailers for the Coast Guard and Army. Amera Trail received an award for “St. Cloud Industry of the Year by Chamber of Commerce”
Scott Locke received an award for St. Cloud Main Street Legend of the Year.
